About NEET Exam

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination in India for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses.

Purpose: NEET is the qualifying test for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, etc.), and other undergraduate medical courses in Indian medical and dental colleges.
Conducting Body: The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the NEET exam.
Frequency: The exam is held once a year, typically in May.
Mode: NEET is conducted in a pen-and-paper format (offline).
Subjects: The exam covers three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).
Structure: NEET consists of a single paper with 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs):
- Physics: 45 questions
- Chemistry: 45 questions
- Biology: 90 questions (divided into Botany and Zoology)
Scoring: The total score is 720 marks. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer (negative marking).
Eligibility: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education or be appearing for it with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as their main subjects. They must also meet the age criteria specified by the NTA.
