The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a standardised test in India for admission to various undergraduate engineering programs.

Purpose: JEE Main is the entrance exam for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs). It is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Conducting Body: The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the JEE Main exam.
Frequency: The exam is held twice a year, usually in January and April.
Mode: JEE Main is a computer-based test (CBT).

Conducting Body: One of the IITs conducts the exam on a rotational basis under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).
Frequency: The exam is held once a year, typically in May.
Mode: JEE Advanced is a computer-based test (CBT).
